OC SPRAY COURSE
The purpose of this class is to give officers a viable option between talking and fighting. If
one can avoid the hand-to-hand confrontation, one can likewise avoid an assault. This is a certified 4 hour Missouri P.O.S.T
course.
- Officer safety is the primary focus of this training.
- The
secondary focus is minimizing liability to the officer and the department.
Upon completion of this 4 hour
block of instruction, the student will be able to:
- Briefly explain the history
of tactical chemical munitions involving the use of OC based products.
- Explain
the primary differences between CN, CS, and OC, including their concentrations, carriers, and performance characteristics.
- Explain the various spray/delivery techniques and distances for using CN, CS, and OC.
- Explain where the chemical aerosols are found on the force continuum.
- Explain
when it is appropriate to deploy chemical aerosols.
- Explain
decontamination procedures for persons exposed to pepper spray/First Defense or Sabre Red.
The manufacturer requires instructors and end-users be exposed to the product.
Gray Ram Tactical teaches directly from the Sabre Red Lesson plan, therefore all users will receive a full-face spray unless
they have been exposed in the past.
